Food Company Identifies Opportunity within their Distribution Network
This study provided a high-level assessment of the distribution network of a major manufacturer. The savings opportunities identified (50% to 60% in total miles) were large enough to assure the organization that a detailed network redesign project was warranted.
Consumer Package Goods Company Identifies Opportunity in their Transportation Network
This company learned there were opportunities to save between 11% - 15% on their total transportation spend, the majority of this coming in the peak period. The most significant savings would be gained by more effective mode selection activities (11%). Pooling points, shipment consolidation and multi-stop routing also provided specific savings.
